Horse & Rider Session // Maddie & Electra

Some of you might recognize this beautiful bay mare, Electra is owned and loved by a close friend of mine, Laura, who has been a huge supporter of my business but now this amazing mare is being leased by a new person, Maddie and this was their first photo session together. Laura and I have similar stories of getting our first horses, early in life, beautiful bays who we adored and we have chatted about how difficult leasing out your heart horse is, relinquishing that trust to another person but as I’ve found with my own horse, when it works out, it is pure magic. It felt like that, magical, when I captured the bond between Maddie and Electra, to watch the horse you have known and loved for years help another person blossom into a beautiful equestrian.

Capturing the new partnership between Maddie and Electra was so much fun, these two complement each other beautifully with their soft but fierce personalities and similar demeanors. Though they might have had a rough start, you would never know it looking at them now, they communicate wordlessly and effortlessly. I am certainly excited to see where this partnership goes!
