πŸŽ„Katharina & Domino & Dan{Christmas Mini-Session}πŸŽ„

I arrived at Katharina's property on Pigeon Lake early Saturday morning. She was the first stop on the trip to Calgary and I was excited to meet her two horses Dan and Domino, but first, I was greeted with the warm welcoming committee of the dogs, Rocket and Abott! Once the puppies settled down I got to greet Katharina and Carol-Ann, and the ponies! Domino was stunningly beautiful and I was taken aback by her beautiful white coat and striking blue eye. Dan, who Katharina had described as "an old man trapped in a four-year-old body", fit the description perfectly and was one of the most cuddly horses I've met. His kind eyes and laid back personality said it all about the bay gelding.

We started with Domino's portraits first, just as a light snow began to fall. It was obvious that Katharina and Domino shared a meaningful connection, and found solitude within each other. Although Domino wasn't as cuddly as Dan and didn't want so many kisses on her nose, it was clear that the two shared kindred spirits. It was a treasure to watch the wordless magic between the beautiful pair.

The relationship between Dan and Katharina felt just as meaningful and yet completely different. I was able to capture many moments of warmth and fondness between the pair as Dan cuddled closely with Katharina. Although Dan might have an old-man soul, their bond had a childlike joy to it that was beautiful to capture.

Not only did Katharina share unique and extraordinary partnerships with each of her horses, but it was clear that Domino and Dan relied on each other greatly for companionship and were dear friends. Watching the two horses in the snow-covered pasture, their attachment and friendship was clear. The three(plsu Rocket and Katharina's pig), were a beautiful little family. Getting to meet Katharina and all her furry companions was such a treasure, and even more so to capture the beautiful bond that she shares with Dan and Domino.
