It is hard to put into words what makes horses so beautiful. They are one of the most painted animals in the world and their influence is pervasive in art and fashion across human cultures. And yet when I think of the beauty of horses, I don’t think of world famous paintings or sculptures, I think of being in a grass field, doing nothing except sitting and watching the horses. I could watch these beautiful animals for hours and I think that many equestrians would feel the same. It is this sentiment that I bring to each and every equine portrait session.

While my love for the art of the equine form may have started in my own horse’s field, equine portrait sessions seek to remove all the distractions that exist and focus only on one thing ; your horse. The goal of a portrait session is to capture the most aesthetically pleasing and eye captivating images of your equine, while preserving their personality in these photographs. By placing the horse against a stark black background, I am able to focus entirely on their beauty and highlight each hair that has made such a perfect animal.
