Calgary Equestrian Senior Portraits | Rena & Lah Di Dah | Creekside Farms

Graduation season is almost upon us again in Alberta and I am so excited to help more beautiful graduates immortalize this season and accomplishment in their lives. And that’s not even the best part - here at Reversed Eye Photography it just wouldn’t be a graduation session if the horse wasn’t included!

When I tried her we were positive it wouldn’t work out but it was seriously an instant match. Now, Lottie and I have done our first 1.20, 1.30 and 1.40 together and I couldn’t ask for another partner. My favourite thing about her is the trust she’s able to give me and the accomplishments we’ve had together.

There is always something so special about capturing the pivotal moment of graduation. It is a time of such hope and opportunity, of growth and change. Grads stand on the precipice of adulthood, stepping into the unknown as they leave childhood behind. Getting to capture this momentous occasion with your horse is so special, a part of childhood that you refuse to leave behind; the horse girl part. And while the practical parts of horse ownership may not fit well into adult life, draining your bank account and your free time, the lessons learned over the years at the barn will prove valuable throughout life. Lessons of hard work and determination, of patience and kindness, humility and being able to laugh at yourself.

It was clear that Rena had learned all these lessons in her years at the barn, and many of them taught by Lottie (Lah Di Dah). Everyone knows that a spicy mare with a mind of her own will teach you invaluable life lessons. But more than that, they will leave you with a connection unlike anything else, for when you earn their trust they will be kind, hard working, and determined for you. It was clear that Rena and Lottie had built this trust, a bond that translated into wins in the ring and so many precious memories outside of it, and a bond that I’m sure guided Rena through school and will continue to be a constant in her life as she navigates the exciting and uncharted next few years.

Getting ready to celebrate your own graduation?

Why not do it the horse girl way?

If you are anything like me, your horse was a big part of getting you through High School! They were there to listen to you rant about all the drama, or to provide the best study break when you needed it or to remind you about what really matters when you were feeling lost and confused about what your next steps were after graduation. I know I couldn’t have done it without Diesel ❤️

We may never be able to thank these amazing animals enough for all that they do for us but we can preserve our memories with them in beautiful images!

Absolutely gorgeous images! Everything from start to finish, perfectly organized, professional and fantastic top quality work, excellent communication and exceeded all our expectations.
