Horse & Rider Session // Rachel & Malory Prusko with Sky and Romeo
This session was on a beautiful evening in July at Shadowlands Ranch with mother and daughter, Rachel and Malory. I had photographed Malory last in the Fall of 2019 and gotten to meet Rachel then, though this was her first time in front of the camera at a session! The evening could not have been more perfect, the sun was shining brilliantly and we lucked out with a beautiful golden sky. It was so lovely to spend time with these two again, each equally kind souls and always so easy to chat and laugh with, about everything from horses to University!
Romeo was a new addition to the Prusko family, another chestnut, evidence of Malory’s clear type when it comes to horses! They have been a partnership for just about a year now and it was clear that they had a strong connection and had both learnt a lot from each other in this time! Sky looked even better than the last time I saw him and was much better in front of my camera! The horse who would not put his ears forward for love nor money last time was a whole different character this time around and was lovely to handle, even if he was pretty persistent about grazing the whole time!
I adored capturing not only the bonds between these women and their horses but also between a mother and daughter. I always love to spend time with families who share a love of horses, where the equestrian gene has been passed down through the generations. It was truly a delightful evening spending time with these four and I hope I may continue to capture their equestrian family in the future!
