New Horizon Ranch 2022

The summers I spent at New Horizon Ranch are a time I look back on very fondly. Those hot summers spent with horses from sun up until sun down were extremely formative years for me and instrumental in not only my equestrian education but in learning confidence, leadership and bravery. It was a time in my life when there was one thing I couldn’t get enough of; horses, and New Horizon Ranch had no shortage of those to ride, love on and watch from a fence, gazing off into the distance as they roamed the huge pasture. It is a place that I will always look back on fondly and one that I am grateful has continued to be part of my journey as an equine photographer.

Iris Rau and Trish Thompson have been two of my biggest supporters from day 1, from photographing their two studs in 2015, to now getting to come and photograph their sales horses year after year. While the familiar faces gazing over the fence may not be the ones I grew up with, the feeling that comes from spending time here never changes. It always puts me in the mindset to just be and enjoy my time with horses, and for this I am very thankful.

If you see any horses in this post that catch your eye, they may be for sale. Check out New Horizon Ranch to find out more and get in touch!
And be sure to check out their horse camps, there truly isn’t a better place for a young equestrian to spend time in the summer!

Cute foals, dogs and even some goats if you make it to the end!
