Horse & Rider Session // Brigitte & Iliad
I photographed Brigitte and her lease horse, Guiness a couple years ago and was so happy to hear that in 2022 she finally got to become a horse owner and welcome Iliad to the family! While a young and green OTTB is quite the transition from a seasoned eventer like Guiness, I couldn’t imagine someone more capable of taking on the challenge and more deserving of all the joys that horse ownership brings.
After sitting for quite a few years, Iliad has found a wonderful home with Brigitte where he will get to try out eventing, and I’m sure these two will excel! It was obvious that the combination of Brigitte’s confidence and Illiad’s goofy personality will make for a fun and enthusiastic team. Even though this was still a new pair, it was clear that they had already built a strong foundation of trust but more importantly, friendship. It seemed clear to me that Iliad had found his person. And as someone who has her own delightful bay gelding, with a personality more akin to that of a dog, I don’t think Brigitte could have picked a better first horse! I’m sure these two will have an incredibly bright future together.
