Horse and Rider Session // Jessie & Mr.Sandman

I was so excited for this session with Jessie and Sandman, not only because Sandman is such a stunning horse but because I’ve known Jessie for many years and she has always been one of the kindest, most down to earth and joyful equestrians I have known! I also knew her with her last horse, Indy and going off that, I was sure that her connection with Sandman would be just as wonderful and such a treasure to capture.

The session did not disappoint in any way. Sandman was more handsome than I had even expected, it was such a joy to see Jessie again and her kindness and joy had not changed one bit and her lovely friendship with Sandman was so wonderful and filled with laughter and kindness. Jessie’s down to earth and friendly personality was reflected in Sandman’s easy going, puppy like nature and the two seemed very much like kindred spirits. They have been a partnership for the last two years and Jessie described him as an honest teacher, safe to learn on and yet still challenging enough.

“He is very humbling, and I appreciate that he isn't an easy ride, and has taught me so much.”

One of my favourite things that Jessie said about Sandman was that “No oats required, this dude is always high on life!” It was such a heartwarming way to describe this attention loving, happy go lucky gelding!

This session was filled with so much laughter and smiles, Jessie’s smile certainly is infectious! Between Sandman being a ham for attention and treats, or sticking his tongue out after a really good peppermint, I had more than my fair share of bloopers shots from this session! I included a few of them at the bottom and I hope you get as much of a kick out of them as I do!
