Horse and Rider Session // Ella & Miss Double Trouble
I am so excited to finally share the images from Ella’s session! It was such a beautiful spring evening, filled with so much laughter and wonderful memories and I couldn’t love the images more! As with a lot of my sessions this year, we had to reschedule from our original date due to bad weather but I couldn’t be more glad that we did since we got the most beautiful golden evening and such a lovely sunset! I’ve photographed sessions before at Killerney Farms and it is always the most beautiful in the evening, I never get tired of how green it is.
We started the session off with Black Background portraits of Ella’s stunning mare Dixie, who was more than happy to look at herself in the mirror and put her ears forward for us! She was groomed to perfection and beautifully braided and her portraits could not have turned out more beautiful! It’s always fun to photograph greys and fancy coloured horses but there is something about the beauty of a rich bay that I never get tired of.
The rest of the evening was spent capturing the beautiful connection between Ella and Dixie. Dixie was a typical sassy mare and was not about to put up with Ella endlessly invading her personal space with hugs and kisses but it was clear none the less that the pair shared a bond and understanding, even if Dixie wasn’t a fan of the PDA! Especially once Ella was mounted, it was obvious that the team shared trust in one another that had been built over their nearly 3 years together. Their journey as a riding pair has been most impressive to watch, having progressed incredibly in the time that I have seen them at shows, to winning a first place ribbon at Amberlea Harvest. That kind of growth I believe can only be achieved when a team has a strong foundation of trust, connection and communication and it was so obvious that Ella and Dixie’s partnership was built on this strong foundation! I truly cannot wait to see what the future holds for this pair, since I know without a doubt that it will be something amazing!
