Horse & Rider Session // Shanna & Quido
One of my last fall sessions (I know, October already feels like a million years ago) was with Shanna and Quido. It was a beautiful overcast evening and we got to capture the last of the fall leaves and colours and their wonderful connection.
I was struck immediately by Quido’s presence and attention-drawing good looks. He is a striking rich bay and as Shanna described him, a fire breathing dragon under saddle. Even just looking at him on the ground, it was clear he would be quite the force in the ring. Shanna had bought him with the intention to bring him on and re-sell him. Although she was certainly enamoured with his talent and cuddly personality, she knew that he would eventually find a new home to take him through an impressive jumping career. We joked about how if it wasn’t for real life, responsibilities, things like buying a house, we would both have many more horses and spend many more days at the barn.
“i’ve owned Quido for just over a year now. I wasn’t even in the market for another horse but the opportunity came along and I was lucky enough to be the next part of his career.”
It was obvious to me that Shanna was a hard-working and determined equestrian. She seemed like the type of person who set goals and then did everything to accomplish them. It was obvious that her hard work had paid off ten times over with Quido and that she’d played a large part in making him the athlete and horse that he is!
