Horse & Rider Session // Kennedy & Silver in my Jeans

I have known Kennedy for something like 7 years. I originally knew her with her horse Express, an appaloosa who I know she adored. Express sadly passed away a few years ago but I felt extremely honored to capture her relationship with her new horse, Silver. Kennedy had ridden a few horses since Express passed but it was clear that none had fit just right, until she found Silver.

“express was my absolute heart and losing him was a tragedy but when i met silver he reminded me so much of express.”

Seeing Kennedy and Silver together, it was clear that they had not only built a connection and trust but that she had found a love for riding again. There was a joy and lightness in the session that made it so obvious that this was the right match for both of them. Losing your heart horse, the horse that made you truly love riding in the first place is the most difficult thing any equestrian will face as a rider and I think it can be very discouraging to continue with horses, especially if you can’t find the right horse. It may have taken a little while for Kennedy but it seems very clear to me that Silver was worth the wait and I am sure these two will be a partnership for many years.

Kennedy has such a strong foundation as a rider and has always been an equestrian I have admired greatly for her skill and horsemanship. I have no doubt that she is building the most impressive foundation with Silver and that this young thoroughbred will blossom as a horse and that this pair only has growth and achievement ahead of them!

“i went to see him thinking i would come to meet some fire breathing dragon of a horse. silver was the opposite in fact. i was hesitant to buy him but i knew he was already mine.”
