Horse & Rider Session // Ella, Enzo & Dixie

Photographing the same horse and rider partnership year after year brings me a unique joy, watching a connection grow over time and forming a friendship with my clients and their horses. This was my third time photographing Ella and her beautiful mare Dixie, but there was also a new face to meet this time, her brand new gelding, Enzo. I have adored getting to know Ella and Dixie and in the time I’ve known Dixie she has truly transformed and flourished under Ella’s care so I was very excited to get to know Enzo and I am excited to continue to watch them grow as a partnership.

The adoration that Ella has for her horses is so clear and watching them together it is obvious that they are her pride and joy. Ella is a kind and gentle, but also strong and confident person who I truly think has the ability to bring out the best in her horses. Although she is just beginning her journey with Enzo, I have no doubt that they will write an incredible story together and accomplish wonderful things. I can’t wait to watch it unfold! And after 4 years with Dixie, I am sure that they are reaching an incredible point in their partnership together and have formed a true friendship, one that I have been honoured to witness and help capture.
