Christmas Mini // Abigail, Josh & Teddy

A lot of my photography journey this year was spent on figuring out my “why?”, what clients I am here to serve, what sessions inspire me the most, what gets me out of bed every morning, beyond just cuddling with pretty ponies! Every once in a while I will have a session that reminds me, oh yeah, this is why! It doesn’t happen very often that this is a Christmas Mini Session but for Abigail’s session, it was just that.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am all here for the non-glamour sessions, the sessions where you are in jeans and a t-shirt and it is all about you and your horse, but something about putting on that fancy dress, doing up your hair and makeup and getting in front of the camera just brings out my creativity. Now don’t let Abi’s smile fool you, it was freezing, Abi here is just one tough lady and was willing to go that extra mile to capture her moments and to me that means the world!

Teddy (the horse, not the boyfriend) is a gelding I’ve known for many years, and with three different riders. He is the kind of horse who brings out the best in a rider, because of his own natural ability and is just an easy-going, kind and affectionate horse, basically a big Teddy Bear! I adored getting to capture his connection with his newest teammate, and Abi’s smile told me all I needed to know about this cheerful and friendly partnership! Her face was equally lit up every time she looked at Josh and it was such a joy to capture the three of them together!
