Horse & Rider Session // Alexa & Nemo

I said it before and I’ll say it again, horse & rider portraits in the fall are really something else!

I remember when I arrived at Alexa’s barn we were both in awe of how perfect the fall colours were that day. They were really in their peak, with stunning golden, orange, and even red tones mixed in with the otherwise still green foliage! It made for the most beautiful backdrop for Alexa and Nemo to have their beautiful portraits. I’ve known Alexa for many years and had the privilege to photograph her in 2020 with her horse Swayze, check out that blog HERE and have loved to see her grow as a horsewoman and all the beautiful connections she shares with each of her horses.

Though it was still a fairly new partnership for these two, they were obviously already relaxed and comfortable with one another and had learned each other’s quirks and personalities. I don’t think chestnut geldings fall into the same category as chestnut mares, but there sure is something special about them and it is obvious that Alexa has a type when it comes to horses! I look forward to seeing these two progress with one another, it seems they are just the right fit and that Nemo will allow Alexa the confidence and fearlessness to be unstoppable!
