What is so special about winter photos?

A lot, if you ask me!

Now I get it, winter is cold, it feels like it goes on way too long and it can look brown and boring outside for most of the year, not to mention the fact that your horse might be a fluffy mammoth. I for one though think that winter is a seriously underutilized season for photos. The beautiful golden hour comes much earlier in the day, the crisp white background of snow is a stunning and stark contrast to any other season of photos and the fluffy pony look is so adorable in its own way!

This season is particularly great for creating the uniquely stunning white background portraits, the snow and a bit of shade makes it an easy job, and the coolest action portraits, I even photographed some of my own horse the other day!
