Horse Show // Extreme Stables 11th Annual Extravaganza

Better late than never right? That’s what I’m telling myself with these blogs, since staying on top of them is proving to be a challenge and a half in my busiest season. I always appreciate a chance to look back at the sessions once they are in the past though and looking back on the weekend of the Extreme Stables show is no different!

Extreme is a place where I myself have shown multiple times over the years and it is one of my favourite venues. It is a stunning facility but more importantly, the shows always have a fun, kind and warm-hearted atmosphere! I have had some of my greatest rounds in their jumper ring and hold very fond memories there, so returning as the official photographer really felt as if I was coming full circle in my journey as a rider and photographer.

It might not have been the weekend that everyone hoped, between the never-ending rain on Friday and then the insane windstorm that drove us all inside on Saturday, there were some challenges to be had but I’ve got to give my hat off to the show organizers and every single competitor for everyone’s great attitudes and positivity! Alberta eventers and riders certainly don’t let the weather get them down!

Here are a few of my favourite images from one of my most favourite weekends of the summer. They are not perfect images, showing excellent jumps or movements(not that I don’t love those images), but they are the images with feeling, that capture the fleeting moments of joy at an event and the wonderful girt and perseverance of each and every rider.
