Horse & Rider Session // Elissa & Pep
I am so terribly behind on blogging but doing my best to catch up as quickly as I can! It is so much fun looking back at these sessions and being reminded of all the fun that we had, more than a month later. This particular session though was off to a rocky and stressful start. My cat got heatstroke right before the session, literally as I was walking out the door, he would not stop panting. This is when temperatures were above 30 for days on end, and I live in a third-floor apartment with no AC, so I had to deal with him before the session and arrived late. Thankfully Elissa was super understanding and we were still able to make magic happen!
Elissa and Pep were completely adorable and their connection was incredibly genuine. I knew from reading Elissa’s responses to my questionnaire that these two would be a wonderful partnership to capture, as I was already captivated by their story and how they had found each other and Elissa had been drawn to this misunderstood horse while she still belonged to someone else. It was clear from capturing them together that they were meant to have found each other and be in each other’s lives. Elissa is getting ready to head off to University this fall, so it was very special to commemorate this partnership and this special moment in their partnership before Elissa starts a new stage of life. As I am reaching the end of my own University journey I am fondly reminded of my own memories when I was in Elissa’s shoes. It is always difficult to start a new chapter of life, especially when you know horses might be put on the back burner but it is obviously clear that Elissa and Pep will always share a deep connection and that Pep will always be part of Elissa’s life.
