Horse & Rider Session // Cynthia & Aramis
16 Hands Stable is a beautiful little farm nestled in the hillside west of Edmonton. A little red barn tucked between grassy pastures welcomes you to this family owned facility. Animals of all shapes, kinds and sizes greet you and the atmosphere is one of kindness, family, and comfort. It feels like youβve stepped back in time and are suddenly a kid going to your first horse camp again. I started my day at 16 Hands stables capturing fine art portraits of three of their lesson horses (check out that blog - HERE - ), and finished it with this beautiful session between Cynthia and Aramis.
Cynthia was an absolute delight to be around. Her friendliness and vibrancy for life was contagious and her love for Aramis was incredibly obvious. Aramis was a kind eyed, but spooky gelding, self proclaimed by Cynthia to be scared of everything, including βfloating dandelion fluffβ. But it was clear that Cynthiaβs confidence and outgoing attitude paired well with this timid geldings attitude towards life and that he was a big part in bringing Cynthia back to the joy of horses after a 2 year hiatus. What he may lack in confidence, this sooty buckskin sure makes up for in looks! He sure had me swooning over his beautiful colouring and unique, striking markings.
The only thing cooler in this session than Aramisβs colouring? Cynthiaβs 2007 Mustang! I love when clients bring their own personality and uniqueness to a session and this bright orange car certainly showed off Cynthiaβs bright, fun loving and confident personality. Plus it made for some really cool poses!
If you were to bring one thing to a session to show off your personality, what would it be? Let me know in the comments!
Did you fall in love with these images?
I promise youβll love them even more if itβs you and your horse front and center! I want to make you the star and tell the story of your beautiful life.
