It’s always a great day when I get to have not one but two beautiful horses in front of my lens. Kylee reached out to me to photograph her two boys on my most recent trip to Edmonton and I was glad to fit her into my schedule. You wouldn’t know it by looking at the images but it was a cold day in the dead of winter when I headed out to photograph George and Sparky at Southbrook Farms. It had been snowing hard all morning, and I had my fingers and toes crossed that it would stop long enough to capture these beautiful portraits. Thankfully we lucked out!
Both George and Sparky couldn't have been better models and made my job incredibly easy. It would be hard to take a bad picture of either of them! They are both 10 year old Warmbloods, George a Belgium Warmblood from across the pond in Ireland and Sparky a Canadian Warmblood who Kylee bought as a 2 year old. Just like any horse person, Kylee was more than happy to talk about her two beautiful boys and share a little bit about their personalities -
“Sparky was terrified of people but he has become very much a puppy dog. He loves attention. I absolutely adore his dorky personality. I’ve never bonded with any horse like I have with him. George came over in July from Ireland. He is super sweet and loves to cuddle. We’re still getting to know each other, but he is really growing on me. He has the heart of a lion when it comes to the jumping".
